My First Third Day Concert

My recent purchase on e-bay was this poster which dates back to my first Third Day concert. The show took place in Dayton, Ohio on March 17, 2001. The concert also featured Kendal Payne and Lincoln Brewster. I was hooked! My Sunday school class got together to go to the show. I remember that we did not plan well and got there just as the show was getting ready to start and the place was packed! Because of that we ended up sitting in the balcony, which didn’t allow us to see well. Didn’t really manner that we had to move around to even be able to see the stage, the music was amazing. They played one of my favorite songs, “Your Love Oh Lord” which I still listen for when I go to a concert. I had only been a Christian for a very short time and things such as this strengthened my daily walk. This was my second Christian concert the first had been just months before when we got to see Newsboys with Sonicflood and Bean Bag. I am so glad to say that these may have been the first two of many shows that I have been fortunate enough to attend over the years. The first concert my husband and saw together was Third Day when we traveled to see them at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, on Thursday November 18, 2004. He is just as hooked now as I am. On November 8, we will be going to see Third Day once again in what will be my seventeenth show in Cincinnati, Ohio.

On the Third Day of September

I work in a local transit system where on the third of the month people receive the money that they live on for that whole month. Many of these people are elderly and disabled, that bit of money pays for their shelter, food and medications, all the material things that they will need for the month. We so often get caught up in the day to day trials of life and forget the gifts that God has provided for us. Having been to several live performances of Third Day, it is during those times that the music allows me to witness the glory of God in a very special way, as we are lead in worship. Of course God is around us all the time and is there for us daily. We don't have to wait for a check to come in the mail and his glory is limitless. When attending concerts put on Third Day I have been a witness to that sort of miracle. These shows have moved me pray hard and sing loud and I thank God each time I get to go to a show.

Third Day on the 3rd day of August

Third Day on the third day of August..... Lets talk about Twitter. Which is not really about Third Day but I fell under its infulence because of you. Because of Twitter I have been allowed to expand some friendships that have been limited by computer time. Because of twitter I bought a nice new phone that opens out for easy twittering. I don't feel like messing with T9 (something new that has been added to my vocabulary). My husbands surgery this last week left me sitting in the surgery waiting area with a book, my latest cross stitch project and access to so many people via twitter and texting. I didn't feel alone this time because the pastor couldn't come with us and family was busy but I was able to stay in touch with others by the use of modern technology. My husband keeps telling me that I am turning into the geek of the family after I told him about Tumbler and Jott. So thanks to Third Day and Mark Lee on the 3rd day of August You have added something to my life that I can only thank you for but I'm still not sure of the geek part. Unless you take into account the looks on peoples faces as they watch him and I text and talk about My Space, Facebook and Twitter. They just seem to view us as the exception for our age group!

Great Gomer Gathering April 1 and 2, 2006 was a great time to be had by all who attended. I had just gotten married in December of 2005 to Greg and because we where both fans we decided to attend. It was fun to meet other fans of Third Day and to get a chance to meet the member of Third Day. We addressed social issues with Invisible Children. Where able to give some input into what we thought Third Days next project should be (Christmas album). Had fun test driving Chevy's with the guys. Was there when they received a gold record for Wherever You Are. A very special Sunday morning worship service with the guys. There was also a concert at Lipscome University. That week we also took part in GMA's and also went to the Gospel Music Awards. We are looking forward to the next Gomer gathering and would recommend it to everyone.
